Maurice joined the CIE in 2015. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons) with majors in Economics and Finance, and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Melbourne.
At the CIE Maurice has worked on a range of areas including infrastructure evaluation, demand forecasting for utilities, infrastructure regulation and benefit cost studies. In work that is ongoing, Maurice is evaluating the economic impact of scientific research and development relating to food and nutrition.
Prior to starting with the CIE, Maurice was an Economist at the Reserve Bank of Australia. At the RBA, Maurice was responsible for modelling and forecasting residential building construction and the established housing market. He also has experience evaluating cash use in the economy, estimating the societal cost of counterfeiting banknotes and assessing non-cash financial fraud.
