Rohan Alexander

Economist

Rohan joined TheCIE in 2012 as an Economist. He holds a Master of Economics from the Australian National University, and a Bachelor of Economics with Honours from the University of Queensland, where he was on the Dean’s Honour Roll for Outstanding Academic Excellence. He was a National Finalist in the UBS Investment Banking Competition and passed Level 1 of the CFA exams.

Rohan has four years of experience across the public and private sectors. At TheCIE he has worked on a broad range of applied Australian economic issues including: analysis of the Clean Energy Act; food labelling and processing; taxation of the Australian housing sector; wheat price elasticity; and variations to Modern Awards.

Prior to joining TheCIE, Rohan was a Senior Analyst at the Reserve Bank of Australia. He has also worked as an Economist at the Queensland Water Commission; and as a Research Assistant for both Professor Flavio Menezes and Synergies Economic Consulting.

Rohan has had opinion pieces published in the Australian Financial Review, Australian Policy Online and the Canberra Times.
