Report prepared for Standards Australia Ltd

Author: David Pearce

The range of documents, processes, committees and publications that constitute the world of 'standards', is both broad and diverse. Standards cover most areas of economic activity and come in a variety of forms with a variety of effects.
This report provides an attempt to draw out some of the key characteristics of standards, to provide a broad indication of the ways in which standards influence the economy and to provide some estimates of the magnitude of that influence.
