Economic evaluation of system-wide implementation of kidney supportive care
In 2021, the CIE was engaged by NSW Health to undertake an economic evaluation of alternative care pathways for renal supportive care and end stage kidney disease to estimate the costs and benefits of system-wide implementation of kidney supportive care. The work included detailed analysis of survival benefits, dialysis substitution, and costs, and found that continued delivery of kidney supportive care would deliver a net economic benefit through improved survival and avoided costs of care.
The analysis was used to support the 2025 publication of ‘Economic evaluation of system-wide implementation of kidney supportive care’, which is available online here.
