In November 2023, the CIE completed a study for Evoenergy on the potential future demand for controlled and flexible load electricity tariffs in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT). The research — which involved an online choice modelling survey of 721 households — found demand for these tariffs depends on the cost saving offered, the nature of restrictions on electricity usage, and whether it would be possible for consumers to override the restrictions. The results informed Evoenergy’s revised regulatory proposal to the Australian Energy Regulator’s distribution determination 2024 to 2029.
