Tangled Telecommunications

Telecommunications policy in Australia is tangled. There is a vast array of duplicate policies and programs providing up to $1 billion1 of industry and taxpayer funding each year for the provision of universal telecommunications services. This is in addition to the $51 billion taxpayer funded National Broadband Network.
