Katie is an economist who specialises in using robust quantitative and qualitative analysis to answer pressing social and economic questions. She has worked with private and public clients to conduct evidence-based economic research focused on improving the health and wellbeing of Australians.  

She is skilled in a range of quantitative and qualitative tools, including cost-benefit analysis, cost of illness modelling, supply and demand forecasting, thematic consultation analysis and framework design. She is passionate about completing research that incorporates lived experience through consultation, surveys and interviews, and economic modelling to garner fresh insights. 

Prior to joining the CIE, Katie worked in the health economics and social policy practice at Deloitte Access Economics. She also has received a Bachelor of Economics (First Class Honours) and a Bachelor of Advanced Studies (Politics) from the University of Sydney. Her thesis focused on how the timing of childhood disadvantage impacts a young adult’s likelihood of becoming Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET).
