The CIE’s mission is to bring the practical insights of economic analysis — including economic theory and rigorous empirical techniques — to our very broad range of clients in the government, non-government and international agency sectors. In doing this, we seek to work effectively with a range of other disciplines — in science, medicine and the social sciences — to generate maximum value for our clients. In doing our work, we also seek to provide substantial capacity and human capital development; for our own staff and for all those with whom we interact.

We have provided policy-relevant research to agencies and departments at all levels of government, industry associations and private clients for over three decades. Our areas of expertise span most contemporary areas of economics, including:

  • assessment of the effectiveness of policies, programs, and funding models across all sectors

  • economic appraisal and benefit cost analysis

  • quantitative economic modelling

  • evaluation framework development

  • strategy development

  • scenario analysis

  • market studies, and

  • survey work and stakeholder consultation.

Our evidence based approach to consulting reflects our long standing commitment to developing cutting edge quantitative tools, and we regularly build models to help solve problems.
