Ben joined the CIE in 2023. As a research economist, he provides analysis necessary for robust, evidence-backed policy recommendations. Ben has been involved in projects across industries including infrastructure, land use and environment, and health.

Ben obtained his first class economics honours degree from the University of Sydney, where he also tutored mathematical economics. Through his honours project analysing the efficiency of university timetable algorithms he has developed skills in research, simulation, and communication. He has a keen interest in the application of microeconomic and econometric techniques to unconventional markets.

For modelling and econometric work, Ben has experience in various software, including Stata, MATLAB, and Excel.
